The Indian Springs Spa offers mud baths, massage and bodywork, and facial treatments in a historic setting. The Mission Revival Spa building is home to 22 massage rooms (two for couples), his and her mud bath and shower areas, steam rooms, and the adjacent, spring-fed Buddha Pond and Gardens.

Our mud baths consist entirely of resources found at Indian Springs. Thermal mineral water from our geysers is mixed with 100 percent pure volcanic ash to create the mud.

To book a Spa appointment, please call (707) 942-4913. We make every effort to provide guests with their requested treatment at their preferred time. We do recommend booking well in advance.

Below are commonly asked questions about the Spa and our services.

What are the Spa hours?

The Indian Springs Spa opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Our last treatments begin at 8 p.m.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?
Please arrive 20 minutes before your appointment. This will allow you time to change, relax, and sip some cucumber citrus water.

What should I wear in the Spa?

We provide a robe and slippers for you to wear while in the Spa.

What should I wear for a massage?
It is completely up to you, but most people wear nothing. Your massage therapist will only expose the portion of your body that is being treated at the time and drape the rest.

What should I wear in the mud bath?
Absolutely nothing is best. Our mud is sterilized between each guest’s use with 230-degree mineral water and new mud is added continuously.

Can I wear a bathing suit or undergarment in the mud bath?
Whatever is most comfortable for you. However, we recommend wearing nothing because the volcanic ash may stain clothing. Our mud rooms are not coed. If you wish to cover up, we sell disposable swimsuits at the Spa Front Desk.

Should I eat before a mud bath?
We recommend a light meal and plenty of fluids. The mud bath is an intense heat treatment, so hydrating before and after is important.

Is it okay to drink alcohol before my mud bath?
Because of the intense heat, we strongly advise against drinking alcohol before your appointment.

May I bring a child to the Spa?
Spa guests must be 14 years of age to have a facial and 16 years of age to have a mud bath, mineral bath, massage or any other body treatment.

May I request a male or female massage therapist?

By all means. Please let our staff know your preference when you make your appointment.

Where do I store my valuables?

We’ll provide you with a locker, but we recommend that you lock valuables in your car, in your room safe if you are a resort guest, or ask the Front Desk staff to lock them in the Front Desk safe.

Do I need to tip my massage therapist or esthetician?
Gratuities are always appreciated. There are tip envelopes in the Spa lobby and dressing rooms. You may leave them in the gratuity box located at the Front Desk or give them directly to your therapist or attendant. You can also leave a tip on your credit card.

What is the cancellation policy for Spa services?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel a Spa appointment without a charge.

Do you accommodate groups in the Spa?

We welcome groups. Our Group Coordinator is available to assist groups of six or more with every detail of their Spa experience.

Are gift certificates available for Spa services?
Gift cards make the perfect gift and they are available in any amount requested. They can be used at the Spa, hotel, and Sam’s restaurant – but are not redeemable for cash.

Can I use the two pools as a Spa guest?
Spa guests have complimentary access to the pools Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. On weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and holidays, Spa guests who would like to use the pools must purchase a pool pass for $30.

Can a guest who is not having Spa services join me in using the pools?

Our pools are available to those having a Spa service or for guests staying at the resort. Additional pool passes for other guests are not available.
