What are the spa hours?

The Indian Springs Calistoga Spa opens at 8:45 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Our first treatment is at 9:00 a.m. and last treatments begin at 4:30 p.m.

Are masks required while having a spa treatment?

Facial masks/coverings are optional.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive 20 minutes before your appointment. This will allow you time to change, relax, and sip some cucumber citrus water.

What should I wear in the Spa?

We provide a robe and slippers for you to wear while in the Spa.

What should I wear for a massage?

It is completely up to you, but most people wear nothing. Your massage therapist will only expose the portion of your body that is being treated at the time and drape the rest.

What should I wear in the mud bath?

Absolutely nothing is best. Our mud is sterilized between each guest’s use with 230-degree mineral water and new mud is added continuously.

Can I wear a bathing suit or undergarment in the mud bath?

Whatever is most comfortable for you. However, we recommend wearing nothing because the volcanic ash may stain clothing. Our mud rooms are not coed. If you wish to cover up, we sell disposable swimsuits at the Spa Front Desk.

Should I eat before a mud bath?

We recommend a light meal and plenty of fluids. The mud bath is an intense heat treatment, so hydrating before and after is important.

Is it okay to drink alcohol before my mud bath?

Because of the intense heat, we strongly advise against drinking alcohol before your appointment.

May I bring a child to the Spa?

Spa guests must be 12 years of age to have a facial and 16 years of age to have a mud bath, mineral bath, massage or any other body treatment14-17 year olds are welcome to enjoy a spa treatment but must be accompanied by a parent.

May I request a male or female massage therapist?

By all means. Please let our staff know your preference when you make your appointment.

Where do I store my valuables?

We’ll provide you with a locker, but we recommend that you lock valuables in your car, in your room safe if you are a resort guest, or ask the Front Desk staff to lock them in the Front Desk safe.

Do I need to tip my massage therapist or esthetician?

You will have the opportunity to leave gratuity for your services upon checking out with the Spa Front Desk.

What is the cancellation policy for Spa services?

Please provide 24-hour notice of cancellation to avoid being charged for service. All no-shows will be charged for service in full.

Do you accommodate groups in the Spa?

We welcome groups. Our Group Coordinator is available to assist groups of five or more with every detail of their Spa experience.

Are gift certificates available for Spa services?

Gift cards make the perfect gift and they are available in any amount requested. They can be used at the Spa, hotel, and Sam’s restaurant—but are not redeemable for cash. Please see or call our Front Desk at (707) 942 4913 for more information or our gift certificates are also available for purchase online.

Can a guest who is not having Spa services join me in using the pools?

Additional passes for guests that do not have a spa treatment booked are not available for purchase. Pool visitors must have a 50-minute spa treatment or resort accommodations booked on the day of their visit. No exceptions are made for children.

Pool passes are $50 for all spa day guests who book a 50-minute spa service, depending on availability. We urge you to pre-book your pool pass at the time of your booking. Pool Passes are not available on Saturdays for spa day guests.

What are the pool hours?

The hours for the pools fluctuate with the season. Typically, the pools are open until midnight for hotel guests. Spa guests are welcome from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
